The Los Zetas drug organization is by far the most violent and deadly of any in Mexico. They were known as the enforcement arm for the Gulf Cartel for decades until 2010 when they broke up with the Gulf cartel to form their own individual organization. Ever since they have been committing horrible crimes of violence in order to become one of the top cartels in Mexico. In August of 2010, the Los Zetas cartel massacred 72 undocumented immigrants and buried them in a mass grave in San Fernando on a fear that the immigrants would be recruited to the Gulf cartel. Also in San Fernando in 2010, Los Zetas intercepted several buses headed toward two border towns, kidnapping many on board. They then executed an estimated 193 people on a ranch near San Fernando. The killings were also because of a fear that they would be recruited to the Gulf cartel. Also in August of 2010, the Los Zetas cartel set fire to a casino in Monterrey, killing 52 people. This cartel is without a doubt the most violent cartel in all of Mexico. Also considered to be the most technologically advanced.
